What should I do with my week?

In April, Cathy will take the boys on a trip to Arizona to visit her sister. Since my spring break doesn't match up with the boys, I'm staying here. That means that I'll have six full days at home by myself.

Here's the problem: I have no idea what to do! Most of my life is work and family, so my first thought was get more work done. Then I realized how boring that is. So, I asked my wife for advice, and she said that each day I should deep clean a room in the house. (I think, but am not sure, that she was kidding). Okay, that's even worse.

So... I'll ask you: Any ideas? I'm asking now in case any of the resulting ideas take time to prepare for.

If she is like my wife, she was probably serious.

I suggest you find a book as far from any topic you would normally read as you can, find with little to no redeeming literary qualities to it outside of pure commercial mind numbing entertainment.

Recharge the batteries by putting the mind in neutral.

I think that she might have been in part serious--certainly wouldn't object if I did it!

Good idea about non-sociology reading. Reading can be so relaxing...

(Sorry, that's my reflexive response to all such "Free Time" scenarios)

Go to youtube.com/knumb and look at my flight for 3/24... that should inspire ya.

Dude - ROAD TRIP!! Or do you have to work? If you have to work try to see 15 - 20 movies and eat nothing but wings the whole time.

Six days? Besides sleep?

How about during the day going to six different ball games games at six different stadiums -- 1. Red Sox, 2. Mets, 3. Yankees, 4. Phillies, 5. Nationals, 6. Orioles.

Do that at night.

During the day take in a museum in each of those cities.

Maybe even invite a scholar or or a person of another faith or a guy you'd just like to hang out with to go to the game with you to talk shop.

You could do that, or just clean and catch up on sleep.

Have dinner at your pastor's house. Bring beer. Eat grilled lamb.

Just a thought...

John, I actually thought about that. I wonder, though, if it's too early in the season? Weather dependent.

Brian and Kent, hitting the road sounds interesting... lots to be done elsewhere.

Ben, you are the wind beneath my wings. How fast can I say yes?

Come to Virginia Beach, Virginia and visit Forefront Church! :-)

However, I think Brian's idea of ballgames is much more fun. We do have the Orioles Triple A team here however.

p.s. Did any ever tell you that you look like Tim Cole? At least the pic on the blog does!

Virginia Beach? Sounds warm and close to the ocean. Excellent...

Not sure about Tim Cole. I haven't heard of him.

How about taking your camera each day to places you wouldn't have gone to otherwise and take pictures.
I enjoy the pictures you take and post here. So share a bit more.

Thank you for the kind words about my photos Sid. They mean a lot! (Given how inexperienced I am with photography). Given how long it takes me to go out shooting photos, doing that with the family gone might work really well.

Tim Cole is a church planter and planting coach in Virginia. He started Velocity Church in Richmond, VA and is a staff member of Virginia Vision (VEF) in Virginia. He was one of the founding bloks for Forefront too!

Anyway.., if your cartoon pic is accurate - he is a twin fer sure!
