I have started reading The Alchemist, by Paulo Coelho, which was published in 1993. I have enjoyed the book, but I *loved* this passage from the introduction.
"We need to be aware of our personal calling. What is a personal calling? It is God's blessing, it is the path that God chose for you here on Earth. Whenever we do something that fills us with enthusiasm, we are following our legend."

Yes! Not something we have to do, but something we get to do. I hadn't thought of it like that before, but it makes sense.
Get to do... that does show things differently.
I'm not sure that everything we do with enthusiasm is our "legend", but the spirit of what he writes is refreshing.
Yes, great quote. Compelling, makes you want to find "it". I'd maybe add: "get to do... because we Have to do it". Have to do it because of the desire which is really who we are. If we don't, we die... like the baker.
