A Christmas moment

Out here in rural CT, we don't get a lot of radio stations. Well... the other day I was driving to the store, and I guess I went behind a hill because I could only get two radio stations. One was playing a Jackson-Five Christmas song, and the other a Muppets Christmas song (I'm not kidding).

At that point, I realized that I had only one alternative left. I started to pull over to get out the emergency shovel and dig a shallow grave for myself in the woods. Thankfully, another station came in, so I was able to keep on going.

Others say Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, whatever...

I say "this too shall pass."

Perhaps you could play music you enjoy on the CD player...I'm sure most cars come with them these days.

I don't care much for the Jackson Five, but we actually have (and enjoy!) the Muppets Christmas CD.

It's called a CD player...cars made in the 21st century have them...I don't know about the Ray Charles Christmas Album, but you can't go wrong with his live album at the Montreaux Jazz Festival...

Dear Brad,

Scrooge and the Grinch both changed their ways. We all out here in happy Christmas land have faith that you can too!

God bless us, everyone!

Ray Charles, hm-m-m-m, that might be okay.

What's this "CD" player that you all mention? With my luck, the only CD in the car woud be Muppets Christmas (sorry Ray).

Dear Tiny Tim,

Clearly Scrooge and the Grinch come from works of fiction, for once you go humbug you can't go back again!

I agree, it's hard to get back into the "spirit" once it's gone.

I can't begin to tell you how oft I've used the line, " and this too shall pass".. I think Jesus gave us that line in order to deal with life's dilemas..fits so well at times and feels good when you say it.
