Lyrics from Toby Mac's Lose My Soul

It seems to me that song lyrics are rather boring to read unless you know and like the particular song. Having said that, here's my current favorite song with my current favorite lyrics. So, at risk of being really boring, here's Toby Mac's (with Kirk Franklin) Lose My Soul:

Father God, I am clay in your hands,
Help me to stay that way through all life's demands,
'Cause they chip and they nag and they pull at me,
And every little thing I make up my mind to be,
Like I'm gonna be a daddy whose in the mix,
And I'm gonna be a husband who stays legit,
And I pray that I'm an artist who rises above,
The road that is wide and filled with self love,
Everything that I see draws me,
Though it's only in You that I can truly see that its a feast for the eyes- a low blow to purpose.
And I'm a little kid at a three ring circus.

I love the song as well and I am really trying to live my life and do business by no losing my soul.

Do you know who Toby Mac's father is.

Do you know if the quote "what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul?",is an original or is from the good book or anything?

I found it was taken from Mark 8:35.

Bless you,
