Guns to church?

Well, this would be one way to make sure that sermons don't go on too long...

A story posted on BBC:

"A pastor in the US state of Kentucky has told his flock to bring handguns to church in what he says is an effort to promote safe gun ownership."

On the one hand, I agree that my life is worth protecting. I own several guns and intend to use them to protect myself and my family. I am certain that there are several guns carried to almost every service in my church - mostly (but not solely) by off-duty police. And I am glad that they are there.

On the other hand, maybe the Kentucky church is a little bit mis-focused. Churches should be about the worship of God, the glory of God, ... not the celebration of guns. So I hope that this service was an anomaly.

Yes, I suppose that regardless of what one thinks of guns, there might be a case for not making it the big church issue.
