On the one hand, I agree that my life is worth protecting. I own several guns and intend to use them to protect myself and my family. I am certain that there are several guns carried to almost every service in my church - mostly (but not solely) by off-duty police. And I am glad that they are there.
On the other hand, maybe the Kentucky church is a little bit mis-focused. Churches should be about the worship of God, the glory of God, ... not the celebration of guns. So I hope that this service was an anomaly.
Yes, I suppose that regardless of what one thinks of guns, there might be a case for not making it the big church issue.
