The Sunday comics say that... Gus is pretty smart

At the breakfast table this morning, Gus picked up the comics, read Foxtrot (one of our favorites), adn about 2 minutes later had solved the "secret" message on top. Uh-h-h-h, I didn't even think it could be solved.

Almost all of the letters' values are based on knowing basic arithmetic or alegebra. The only ones I couldn't solve right away were the sin / cos ones because I don't remember any trig, but at a certain point it is just a basic elimination problem.

But then, my friend Jeff and I used to make up these sorts of codes during church when we were in elementary school and pass notes to each other that way. We were dorks. =)

Yes, it can be solved knowing basic algebra and trig ,but I sure don't remember much of it.
